About Me

I am an operator by trade and a student of human systems by nature. My approach to coaching is built on two foundations:

  1. Twenty years of experience navigating high-pressure environments—from global consulting firms and Big Tech to venture-backed startups and the inner circles of executive leadership.

  2. The synthesis of influences from all corners of human nature and understanding,—from philosophy to psychological theory to data-backed social science.

Education

  • University of Michigan: Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science

  • University of Texas at Austin: Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Professional Experience

I’ve spent two decades in a variety of different roles and environments. My background includes:

  • Management Consulting: Six combined years at Accenture and Kearney, solving thorny business and social problems for global enterprises.

  • Big Tech: Operating within the high-scale environments of Google and Autodesk.

  • Startups: Advising and amplifying leaders at food technology and robotics startups through the "hyper-growth" phase.

  • Chief of Staff: Most notably, I have served as Chief of Staff to seven different leaders and leadership teams. This vantage point provided an unfiltered look at what makes organizations and teams thrive and, more importantly, where the gears begin to grind.

Why I Coach

My calling as a coach came at the intersection of two strong signals in my life.

Social feedback

Being a source of support and value to those in my personal life navigating difficulty has also been important to me. The more I engaged those around me in helping them work through challenges, the more I received consistent feedback: people appreciated my ability to take complex, swirling issues and bring structure to them—summarizing the challenge and making it actionable. People also appreciated the ways I would caringly challenge them, bringing new ways of thinking to gain new perspectives.

Professional Insight

My time as a Chief of Staff has been characterized less by solving complex business problems, and more by analyzing and solving people problems. I developed the skills and insights needed to set up the structures and ways of working that enabled individuals, teams, and organizations to thrive.

As a student of people and relationships, I began to notice a striking consistency: businesses, lives, and partnerships all get tripped up in very similar ways. I learned and developed tools that can help any of them realign and move forward with purpose and momentum.

I founded this practice to bring these learnings and experiences to bear in all of these environments. I believe that friction is almost always a structural problem, not a character flaw. My goal is to help you audit your current trajectory, remove the "drag," and move forward.

Outside "The Office"

I live in Boulder, Colorado, and when I’m not coaching or working on a real estate deal, you can usually find me:

  • On my bike: While my bike racing days are behind me, my bike (or should I say bikes) is still my happy place. You’ll often find me on the paved and gravel roads in and around the Rockies.

  • In the kitchen: I love to experience the world through food, and I love to cook. I have a particular passion for Japanese food and culture, so you might find me cooking yakitori or working on my oyakodon.

  • With friends: I believe strongly in the physical world and real, human connection. You can find me spending time with friends and loved ones, fighting back against surrender into the digital world.
